Thailand Water Architecture Workshop
Thailand has a long history with living in flood plains, and has many vernacular solutions to protect against flooding. Yet, in recent years Thailand got devastated by floods. This workshop will analyze the traditional measures against flooding, such as floating fishermen villages and stilt homes. Gained insights will be used as a case study for a small village in central Thailand. On urban scale we will study how water communities can connect to the land, on building scale we will analyze floating buildings and on detail scale we’ll try to make a small raft like floating body.

I am curious and intrigued by the material written and projects
being undertaken in and around water in the world. Given our climatic changes and radical shift in weather unpredictability excepting that we are beginning to see that extremes are having an affect on many places in the world climatically as a result of the earths evolution, perhaps slight axis shift, its energy forces and climate change etc. as we know it
we need to take heed of this fundamentally as in many land mass places we are living on essential islands abiding by the oceans, seas and their respective levels!
Respetcfully written,
